Three or four years ago I gave my self a present about this time of year, a $10 orchid from one of the big box home and garden stores. This plant has turned out to be a real goer and thrives on my black thumb abuse to reward me every spring with 8 or 9 blooms. It seems to last for a month or so and then humbly sits in its pot, waiting to be watered and receive the dregs of my coffee cup until the following January, when a new blooming stalk starts to snake out of the leaves. A parable of rebirth or resurrection? Maybe. Or just the cycle of things with it's own rewards. The images were created with Mamiya 180mm and 140mm marcro lenses on my trusty RZ67.
